Emotive language is a brief introduction, example, and ideas

 

Emotive language is the skill of full use of the words that evoke or produces certain emotions in the mind of the public. It is simply an emotional language that people use to create public opinion in favor or against something. It is a subtle art of selecting the words and using them in a special event to get the public opinion in your favor. Special words, diction, and phrases create specific emotions in the mind of the audience. It is the word choice that affects the sense and the meaning of the sentences conveyed to the people. Therefore any word that can produce an emotional response in the mind of the audience and readers can be called emotive language.

 

It is words that make our speeches and helps us communicate the thoughts which are going on in our mind. When we use them as per the idea that we want to instill a certain emotion in the mind of the listener then it takes the form of emotive language. Again it depends totally on the use of word choice of the writer or the speaker.  

 

We can take examples of the common use of emotive language: 

 

Do not leave the tap open after use 

 

This neutral way to use the language and it has no emotional touch on the sentences.

 

Save water save life use as per the need or do not waste water for life depends on it. 

 

This has an emotional appeal to the sentences and provokes a sense of responsibility in the mind of the readers or listener. It brings the idea that life is where there is water if wasted overly then life is going to halt on this planet.

 

As we can see that is a common example that is used in day-to-day life. The use of emotive language is widespread in almost every field of human life.

 
The use of emotive language is high in marketing and advertising Company. They use it to lure consumers to buy their products.

The entire thing is appealing to the emotions of those people who want to look beautiful. It provokes an emotion that appeals to the human psyche where they are insinuated to buy a cream that can help them out with their skin problems and solve their relationship problems easily.

 

The use of emotive language is much higher in breaking news headlines. Such as:

 

An innocent victim falls prey to a cold-blooded murderer while saving her five-year-old child. 

 

In this sentence, you see that there is a strong emotional provocation against the murderer that demands public condemnation as a whole.

 

Another example:

 

We lost a brave soul at the border clashes with the inter-border casualties. He made a great sacrifice to keep our nation safe from the outside powers. 

 

In this sentence, we are trying to praise a soldier who achieved martyrdom fighting the foreign invasion. It evokes an emotion of patriotism in the minds of the public living under the boundaries of specific nations. It inspires people to unite against their common enemies and always be ready to make the sacrifice themselves as they face the same situations in the near future.

 

The use of emotive language in literature and entertainment is most common. Poets have been using it to evoke different emotions in their readers. They have mastered the art of playing with the words. They use it to call to mind the love feelings, and sympathy in the mind of the people.
